Cook a recipe
Cooking mode shows one step at a time, with the ingredients it needs, so you keep your place in a busy kitchen. It uses the batch you chose on the recipe page; see Scale and print recipes.
Start cooking
Section titled “Start cooking”- Open a recipe and choose Cook.
- Each step shows the ingredients it uses, then The rest of the ingredients. Tick ingredients off as you use them.
- Choose Next step to move on, or All steps to see the whole method and jump to any step.
- When you’re done, choose Finish cooking. Add a note about how it went if you like. Savorum records when you made it.
To stop partway, choose Exit cooking. Your place is kept, and Resume cooking picks up where you left off. Discard cooking ends without recording anything.

Timers
Section titled “Timers”When a step gives a time, start a timer from it, or set your own under Timers. Timers keep running while you move around Savorum. A timer never moves you to the next step.
Microwave times
Section titled “Microwave times”Set your Microwave output in your preferences. When a recipe was written for a different power, the timer shows the time for your microwave, and offers the recipe’s own time too. On someone else’s microwave, choose Different microwave to adjust the time for this meal only. If a recipe says its power setting must not change, Savorum says so and doesn’t adjust it.
Cook several dishes at once
Section titled “Cook several dishes at once”Choose Select in your library, pick the recipes, and choose Cook together. Or choose Add a dish while you cook. Each dish keeps its own batch and its own place in the steps. Add another batch cooks a second, separate batch of the same recipe.
Save this meal keeps the dishes and their batches together, so you can plan the same meal again.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Keep Savorum open in a browser tab while a timer runs. If you reload the page, timers pick up at the right time. If you close the browser, Savorum can’t alert you; it shows the finished timer when you come back.
- Cooking mode asks your device to keep the screen on. Whether that works depends on your browser.
- Your cooking progress and timers stay in this browser. Signing out clears them.
- Recipes you’ve opened before stay readable when the server can’t be reached, such as on a weak kitchen connection. Photos that weren’t loaded show a placeholder.
- On a shared computer, sign out when you’re done. Until you do, your recipes stay readable offline in that browser.
