Make shopping lists

Turn recipes and planned meals into one list for the shop. Everyone who shares your library shares the same lists, so anyone can tick things off.

  1. Open Shopping. Your library starts with a list called Groceries.
  2. Choose Add item and type what you need. You can also add an Amount to buy, a Note, and a Section or aisle.

To make another list, for a party or a different shop, choose List actions → New list. Switch between lists with Shopping list.

  1. On a recipe or a planned meal, choose Add ingredients to list. To shop for several meals, choose Shop for meals in Plan.
  2. Untick anything you already have. Optional ingredients start unticked. Where a recipe offers a choice, pick the one you’ll buy.
  3. Choose Update shopping list.

Turn on Review items you may already have to see what your pantry notes say you have. You still decide what to untick.

Adding the same meal twice doesn’t double its ingredients. If you do want more, choose Add these again as extra.

Tick each item as you buy it, and it moves to Bought. Untick it if you still need it. Use Section or aisle to group items the way your shop is laid out, and the move buttons to put them in order.

When two recipes need the same ingredient in amounts that add up exactly, Savorum combines them: 500 g of flour and 1 kg of flour become 1.5 kg. It keeps amounts separate when they can’t be added exactly, like cups and grams, or when the names differ, like cream and cream cheese.

Choose Combine with… to group items yourself, or Separate by recipe to split them again. Needed for recipes shows what the recipes call for. Use Amount to buy for what you’ll actually buy, like a whole bag.

If you edit or skip a meal that’s on your list, Savorum offers to update the list and shows you what will change. Accept the changes, or choose Keep the current list. If you edited a recipe after planning it, the review offers Use the recipes as they are now.

When two people change different items at once, both changes are kept. If you both change the same thing, choose Keep my change or Keep their change. Activity shows who changed what.

  • If you lose signal in the shop, keep ticking. Savorum saves your changes on your device and sends them when you’re back online. Wait until it has synced before you switch devices or clear your browser data.
  • People with the Viewer role can tick items off, but can’t add or change them.
  • The Groceries list can’t be renamed or deleted. Deleting any other list removes its items and history.
  • Ingredients added from a recipe keep the amounts from when you added them. If you change the recipe, add its ingredients again.
